joining in the food, fun and entertainment at the Fayette County Fair in nearby West Union, Iowa, July 20-24. In addition to promoting an Education Built for Life in its commercial building fair booth throughout the week, UIU will sponsor Kids Day on Friday July 23.

Visitors who fill out a UIU inquiry card at UIU’s commercial building fair booth or Kids Day booth, will be entered into a drawing for one of two free AfterShokz headphones. The Kids Day games and activities include a Football Toss, Bags Challenge, Connect 4, Ring Toss, Putting Challenge, Ladder Golf, Grand Prize Challenge, Coloring Pages and Tattoos, All activities include will be held near the bandstand and commercial building of the fairgrounds. UIU will also toss out T-shirts at the Demolition Derby, which begins at 7 p.m. Friday.

After auctioneer Dave Burrack lost his voice during the annual Fayette County Fair queen Pie Auction, newly crowned Fayette County Fair Queen/Miss Waucoma Makaela Kime took over the auctioneer duties when selling her own pie. Over $26,000 was raised during the event. Dave is the husband of Sue Burrack, UIU assistant professor of education.

Faculty, staff, students and alumni, are also encouraged to submit photos of themselves or their families participating in fair activities or events at uiu.edu/fcf.
