Saddling up for the Fayette County Fair

Upper Iowa University is saddling up for the Fayette County Fair in West Union, Iowa, July 20-24. In addition to promoting an Education Built for Life in its commercial building fair booth throughout the week, UIU will sponsor Kids Day on Friday July 23.
UIU Kids Day schedule
9:30 – 10:30 a.m. – Complimentary coffee and donuts
11 a.m. – Noon – Duffy Dunk (Come dunk UIU President William R. Duffy II in the dunk tank)
11 -11:30 a.m. – Pictures with Pete the Peacock
1 – 4 p.m. – Kids games
3 – 3:30 p.m. – Pictures with Pete the Peacock
4:30 – 5:30 p.m. – Snack Barn coupon giveaway
Visitors who fill out a UIU inquiry card at UIU’s commercial building fair booth or Kids Day booth, will be entered into a drawing for one of two free AfterShokz headphones. The Kids Day games and activities include a Football Toss, Bags Challenge, Connect 4, Ring Toss, Putting Challenge, Ladder Golf, Grand Prize Challenge, Coloring Pages and Tattoos, All activities include will be held near the bandstand and commercial building of the fairgrounds. UIU will also toss out T-shirts at the Demolition Derby, which begins at 7 p.m. Friday.
Faculty, staff, students and alumni, are encouraged to submit photos of themselves or their families participating in fair activities or events at uiu.edu/fcf.

The Peacock family is also invited to mark its calendar for the Iowa State Fair August 12-22. Upper Iowa faculty and staff will operate the information booth from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each fair day in the Varied Industries Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Visitors can register for one of two, one-year tuition awards to UIU’s Fayette Campus and one of 11 free classes. In addition to registering for prizes, the public is invited to stop by to learn more about UIU and purchase Peacock apparel and merchandise. Additional information will be coming soon.
