Upper Iowa University (UIU) has been named a Military Friendly® Top 10 Gold School Award recipient in the private university, not offering a doctorate, category for 2022-23. Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
“Upper Iowa is especially proud to offer a wide variety of educational opportunities to our nation’s servicemen and -women, veterans, and their families,” UIU President William R. Duffy said. “UIU’s unwavering commitment to accessible higher education and lifelong learning ensures that all students are provided with the skills they need to be successful in the classroom, career and life.”
A participating institution in the Principles of Excellence and Yellow Ribbon programs, UIU has been named a top Military-Friendly School or University by Military Advanced Education and Viqtory on multiple occasions. Online undergraduate and master’s programs at Upper Iowa University have also been ranked among the best online programs for veterans and service members by U.S. News & World Report.
The 2022-2023 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May and October issues of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com. Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2022-2023 survey with 665 earning special awards for going above the standard.
