1647 real estate contract exhibit

Upper Iowa University Archivist Janette Garcia views the real estate contract from 1647 currently on display at the University Archives at Henderson-Wilder Library at Upper Iowa University’s Fayette Campus. The deed for land and buildings in Kingston, England, is written on parchment and is on temporary loan by an anonymous donor from Maynard. Dr. Tom Arne Midtrød, University of Iowa associate professor of history, provided the contract’s transcription that is also on display. The exhibit will be open through the University’s May commencement.
