‘Stratigrapha’ exhibit opens February 11
Bart Woodstrup will be the featured artist at Bing-Davis Memorial Gallery in Edgar Fine Arts Hall at Upper Iowa University’s Fayette Campus Monday, February 11 – Friday, April 12. Woodstrup will lead an artist talk of his “Stratigrapha” exhibit at 2:30 p.m. in UIU’s Liberal Arts 100, followed by a reception at the Gallery Monday, February 11.
“Bart Woodstrup is an artist and musician working in time-based, electronic media with an emphasis in the integration of sound and visuals,” UIU Assistant Professor of Art Laura Gleissner said. “Beyond exploring the synesthetic relationship between the aural and the visual, another theme of his work has been to parse issues of technology at the boundary between humanity and nature, with scrutiny for environmental concerns.”
An instructor in the Time Arts Department of Northern Illinois University, Woodstrup will return to UIU’s Fayette Campus to serve as the juror for the 2019 Northeast Iowa High School Art Show on Wednesday, March 20.
Bing-Davis Memorial Gallery is located in Edgar Fine Arts Hall at Upper Iowa University’s Fayette Campus. The gallery is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
