UIU named Military Friendly Top 10 Gold School

Upper Iowa University announced today (Friday, January 15) that it has been named a Military Friendly® Top 10 Gold School Award recipient for 2018. Victory Media, originator of the family of Military Friendly® employment, entrepreneurship and education resources for veterans and their families, has announced its special awards for 2018 Military Friendly® Schools and Employers. UIU ranked 10th and received its Gold rating in the private university, not offering a doctorate category.

“Since being founded in 1857, Upper Iowa University has a long and proud heritage of providing for the educational needs of the men and women who serve our country and we are honored to be recognized once again for these efforts,” UIU President William R. Duffy said. “UIU’s unwavering commitment to accessible higher education and lifelong learning ensures that all military personnel and their families are provided with the skills they need to be successful in the classroom, career and life.”

A participating institution in the Principles of Excellence and Yellow Ribbon programs, UIU has been named a top Military-Friendly School or University by Military Advanced Education, Victory Media, and G.I. Jobs on multiple occasions. Online undergraduate and master’s programs at Upper Iowa University have also been ranked among the best online programs for veterans and service members by U.S. News & World Report.

“Upper Iowa is especially proud to offer a wide variety of educational opportunities to our nation’s servicemen and -women, veterans, and their families,” UIU Director of Military and Veteran Services Chad Cook said. “Whether serving on a military post in the United States or deployed, the country’s military personnel are provided the help required to achieve an education built for life at UIU.”
