Wausau Center to host anniversary open house

For 25 years, Upper Iowa University-Wausau Center has been providing its students an Education Built for Life. In honor of the center’s 25th anniversary, Upper Iowa University will host an open house on Monday, November 13. The public event will be held from 4-6 p.m. in the Timberwolf Conference Room at Northcentral Technical College (NTC) campus in Wausau.

The anniversary celebration will coincide with the signing of a Virtual College Alliance partnership between UIU and NTC. The partnership includes a tuition rate scholarship to qualifying NTC Virtual College students entering the NTC Virtual College through UIU.

Among the dignitaries planning to participate in the event are UIU President Dr. William R. Duffy, NTC President Dr. Lori Weyers, UIU Wausau Center Director Dr. Debra Tetting, NTC Executive Vice President Dr. Jeannie Worden and NTC Dean of Virtual College Brandy Brueckman.

“On behalf of the Upper Iowa University-Wausau Center faculty and staff, I would like to invite the community to share in our celebration and explore all the educational opportunities that UIU and NTC have to offer,” Tetting said. “Both institutions are committed to providing opportunities for adult learners by creating flexible options for completion of both associate and baccalaureate degrees.”

First opening in 1992, the UIU-Wausau Center serves students from throughout the region. With flexibility and a commitment to high standards and quality, UIU strives to meet the needs of all students with convenient evening and weekend classes, daytime classes, hybrid classes (on-site and online combined), concentrated eight-week sessions, and six different registration periods throughout the year.
