Spanish guitarist Francesc de Paula Soler will perform at the Fayette Opera House, located at the corner of Main and Clark streets in Fayette, on Friday, October 6. The public event, which coincides with Hispanic Heritage Month, begins at 7 p.m.
A master of the guitar, Soler received training from such significant musicians as Spanish guitarists Narciso Yepes and Andres Segovia. Soler’s catalog of music ranges from classical to ragtime, blues and rock. He has performed throughout the world, including at the Library of Congress where he was officially recognized for his cultural contributions by the U.S. House of Representatives.
The free concert is sponsored by Upper Iowa University School of Liberal Arts through the John and Honorine Falb Performance Grant, and with additional assistance from the UIU Center for International Education.
