It’s a Peacock Kid’s Day at the Fair

Bryce Steffens, grandson of UIU UIU associate professor of education Dawn Jacobsen, was getting one of his entries prepared for the 4-H & FFA Beef Show Thursday, August 22. Bryce and all the youth will have the opportunity to participate in the UIU Kid's Day activities Friday, July 23.

The Upper Iowa University-sponsored Kid’s Day at the Fayette County Fair has nearly arrived. The Friday, July 23, schedule begins with complimentary coffee and donuts from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

The entire Peacock family will have a chance to dunk UIU President William R. Duffy from 11 a.m.-noon in the dunk tank, provided by the West Union Boy Scouts. Pete the Peacock will also be available for pictures from 11-11:30 a.m. and from 3-3:30 p.m.

From 1-4 pm., the Kids Day games and activities will include a Football Toss, Bags Challenge, Connect 4, Ring Toss, Putting Challenge, Ladder Golf, Grand Prize Challenge, Coloring Pages and Tattoos. The day’s activities conclude with a Snack Barn coupon giveaway from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

All activities will be held near the bandstand and commercial building of the fairgrounds. UIU will also toss out T-shirts at the Demolition Derby, which begins at 7 p.m. Friday.

Visitors who fill out a UIU inquiry card at UIU’s Kids Day booth (or UIU’s commercial building fair booth on Thursday and Saturday) will be entered into a drawing for one of two free AfterShokz headphones.
