Alumni Speaker March 24

The Alumni Speaker Series continues Wednesday, March 24, with “COVID’s Silver Lining to Volunteer EMS” presented by Mark Griffith ’15, ‘17. The program begins at 6 p.m. CST.

Griffith earned a bachelor’s degree in emergency/disaster management and master’s degree in nonprofit organizational management at UIU. Working his way from a volunteer with the St. Charles (MN) ambulance in 2002, Mark’s desire for service in the emergency management field took off and he’s now serving as the Executive Director of the South Central Minnesota EMS Regional System. With years of emergency management experience and the challenges EMS have faced through the pandemic, his presence provides an important bridge between his community and his career.

Recently developed by the Office of Career Development, the virtual Alumni Speaker Series sessions feature career-related topics inspired by the speaker’s career path.  Alums share their experiences and expertise virtually through Upper Iowa University’s Facebook page.  After the conclusion of each recorded session, they will be shared on the Alumni Speaker Series webpage to be viewed at any time.

Participants, who join the virtual session on Upper Iowa University’s Facebook page, will have an opportunity to ask questions during the event.
