‘Energy is Everything’ at UIU

Guest speaker Bobby Audley will lead “Energy is Everything – The extraordinary impact of how you show up” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, February 17, at Upper Iowa University’s Fayette Campus Student Center ballrooms. The interactive session is open to the public.

As a part of the leadership-themed discussion, Audley aims to help participants gain self-assessment and team tools for measuring attitude and its relation to performance, invest in bettering team and family/social relationships, discover the theory of margins, and how to successfully take on additional responsibilities.

“Employers are interested in individuals who can showcase leadership skills, and UIU wants students to know how they can highlight their own experiences to market their leadership abilities,” UIU director of career development Hope Trainor said. “Students and other young professionals should especially attend Bobby Audley’s presentation to gain additional tools for investing in their leadership development and becoming more engaged.”

Audley is a nationally recognized team-building and group dynamics facilitator and speaker. He began his career working in higher education as a leadership specialist. After his time as an NCAA lacrosse player, Audley coached lacrosse at the NJCAA level and spent three years working for Project Ascent, specializing in team development. Audley founded Outside the Zone, a leadership speaking company, before joining the Penneau Training Group in 2015. He was twice featured on the TEDx stage, speaking on growth through difficulty and how to build meaningful connections with others.

“Energy is Everything!–The extraordinary impact of how you show up” is intended to help participants define energy as it pertains to how they show up in the world, provide the tools for building intentional and invested relationships, and help find a life-balance to become the best in their professional and personal life. The event is sponsored by UIU’s Student Life, Career Development, and Athletic departments.
