Education majors attend Holocaust survivor presentation
UIU professor of education Dr. Gina Kuker (far left) was joined by secondary education majors Alli Ster of Alburnett, Iowa, and Megan Gavin (far right) of Fayette, Iowa, in attending Harold Kasimow’s “My Journey as a Child Holocaust Survivor” presentation Tuesday, April 23, at Grout Museum of History in Waterloo, Iowa. Among his experiences, Kasimow shared that his family lived in a hole underneath a cattle shed for 19 months and 5 days. Ster said the presentation provided an invaluable opportunity to meet Kasimow and hear what a Holocaust survivor thought she should discuss when teaching World War II to her future students.
