Online registration continues for the 2019 Upper Iowa University (UIU) Dance Marathon, which will be held Saturday, March 23, in the Student Center ballrooms at Fayette Campus. The public event will be held from 4-10 p.m., with proceeds benefitting University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Food will be served. Additional activities are scheduled in the UIU Recreation Center.
“We greatly appreciate the support shown by the Peacock community,” UIU Dance Marathon president Laura Murray said. “Upper Iowa University is on a mission to help sick and injured kids in our local community. We are raising funds and awareness through Dance Marathon for our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, which treats children from our area and provides life-saving care to sick and injured kids in need.
As part of the UIU Dance Marathon, individuals seek donations for their respective team. The goal is to raise $100 per team member, not including the $15 registration fee. Participants can join a team that has already been created or start their own team. The event is hosted by the UIU Dance Marathon Committee, while the UIU Alumni Office, EYE organization, and a number of community businesses are helping sponsor the fundraiser.
