Pete’s Haunted Hayride to be rerouted

Due to the saturated grounds, Pete’s Haunted Hayride will provide this year’s participants a short hayride to the haunted hallways of Colgrove-Walker Hall at Upper Iowa University’s (UIU) Fayette Campus Monday, October 29. The rides still begin at East Victory Gate, located on Union Street across from the Recreation Center and Dorman Gym in Fayette.

The public event begins with a family hour from 6-7 p.m. and will be followed by the “full scare” from 7-10 p.m.  Cost is $3 for all ages. UIU students with a valid University ID are admitted free. UIU’s Alumni Office will serve free ghostly goodies to people as they exit the hayride.

Free advanced tickets are available to area youth organizations, leaders and coaches. To pick up the complimentary youth group tickets, stop by the UIU Student Center second floor Student Life office at UIU’s Fayette Campus from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, through Wednesday October 24.

In the case of inclement weather, the entire event will move inside Colgrove-Walker. The scare stations are organized by a variety of UIU academic schools, clubs, organizations, teams, community partners and individual spook artists. Bring yourself or a group and be prepared to be scared.
