PAAC ribbon-cutting

Participating in the Tuesday, April 24, Peacock Arts and Athletic Center ribbon-cutting ceremony on the facility’s indoor putting green were (l-r) Director of Athletics Rick Hartzell, Advancement/Alumni Development Officer and former Head Baseball Coach Mark Danker, Director of Business Affairs and Head Mens/Womens Golf Coach Michael Lewis, President William R. Duffy, Ideal Industries President/CEO Patrick C. Lyons, Sharon Duffy, Assistant Professor of Art Laura Gleissner, Associate Professor of Art Elissa Wenthe and Vice President of External Affairs Andrew Wenthe.

UIU hosted a PAAC open house and dedication ceremony at Fayette Campus April 24. Located just south of Harms-Eischeid stadium, the PAAC has created an abundant space for two- and three-dimensional art, and the baseball, softball and golf teams. Since opening the doors this past fall, the participating faculty and athletic staff members have witnessed great benefits not only within their own departments but positive experiences that they have shared together.

UIU President William R. Duffy and Ideal Industries President/CEO Patrick C. Lyons signed a five-year low-cost lease agreement of the former Ideal Industries building and six-acre property in April 2017. Following the end of the lease agreement, the building will be donated to the University.
