Online registration continues for UIU Dance Marathon

Online registration continues for the 2018 Upper Iowa University Dance Marathon, which will be held in the Student Center ballrooms at Fayette Campus Saturday, March 24. The public event will be held from 5-10 p.m., with proceeds benefitting University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Food will be served and music will be provided by DJ Mitch Eighme.

“We greatly appreciate the support shown by the Peacock community,” UIU Dance Marathon president Adrienne Staton said. “Our 2018 theme is ‘Upper Iowa believes in miracles’ and while many people have already reached their fundraising goals they still continue to raise money to help benefit the Stead Family Children’s Hospital and the many services that it provides to families. We hope that donations continue to come in and the community helps fill the ballrooms on March 24.”

As part of the UIU Dance Marathon, individuals seek donations for their respective team. The goal is to raise $100 per team member, not including the $15 registration fee. Participants can join a team that has already been created or start their own team. The event is hosted by the UIU Dance Marathon Committee, while the UIU Gamma Delta Phi, Chi Alpha and EYE organizations are helping sponsor the fundraiser.

University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital has been dedicated to meeting the health care needs of children and families since 1919. Services range from promoting wellness to the care of general childhood illness, surgery, traumatic injuries, life-threatening and chronic illnesses, and developmental disabilities. As part of an academic medical center, UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital also performs groundbreaking research to help solve the mysteries of childhood diseases, in addition to training the next generation of health care professionals.
