Ellen Kleckner will be the featured artist at Bing-Davis Memorial Gallery at Upper Iowa University’s Fayette Campus Thursday, January 11 – Friday, February 9. As part of the “Re-Union” exhibit’s debut, Kleckner will lead an artist talk at 2:30 p.m., followed by a reception until 5 p.m. on January 11.
“Through a convergence of materials, this work uses a familiar vocabulary drawn from a legacy of makers and leads us to into the unfamiliar; exploring where materials embody idea and form becomes a question,” said Kleckner, who is currently the executive director of Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio, a non-profit community art center in Cedar Rapids.
Bing-Davis Memorial Gallery is located in Edgar Fine Arts Hall at UIU’s Fayette Campus. The gallery is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
