Upper Iowa University junior Alison Leuchtenmacher has once again been awarded the Ralph Kauten Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship was renewed after the 2015 North Fayette Valley graduate maintained the required academic criteria during her second year at UIU.
An accounting/psychology major from Elgin, Iowa, Leuchtenmacher plans to pursue a career in law. In addition to serving as co-captain of UIU’s inaugural Mock Trial Team, she is actively involved with the University’s Honors Program.
The Ralph Kauten Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to former graduates of West Central or North Fayette Valley school districts.
A graduate of West Central High School in Maynard, Iowa, Ralph Kauten attended Upper Iowa University in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. A Madison, Wisconsin, businessman, he and his wife, Erica, established the scholarship as a way to give back to the institution and to recognize the value of helping young people obtain their college degree.
