UIU named Best Online College in Iowa

Upper Iowa University has been named the Best Online College in Iowa by TheBestSchools.org. Iowa State University and University of Iowa rounded out the top three Iowa institutions. A leading education resource, TheBestSchools.org reported its rankings were based on the quality of educational programs, types of courses and degrees offered, faculty strengths, as well as school awards, rankings, and reputation, including a strong reputation for online degree programs.

A private, nonprofit university founded in 1857, UIU is a recognized leader in online and self-paced programs. The same nationally acclaimed education students get from top-notch faculty at the Fayette Campus or through one of the University’s 25 U.S. education centers is also available to students at their home, office, or anywhere with an internet connection.

UIU students have more than 40 undergraduate and graduate majors to choose from, and all utilize a unique, flexible course schedule. Each academic year consists of five 8-week sessions and one accelerated 6-week summer session.

In their first-place ranking, TheBestSchools.org also noted that students benefit from the variety of online student resources also provided by UIU, including disability services, online tutoring, writing assistance, access to helpful learning software and an online library with access to a plethora of online databases.
