‘Ancient and Modern’ Culture Night

Among the international Upper Iowa University students participating in the “Ancient and Modern” Culture Night at Fayette Campus Tuesday, March 7, will be Margaret Solomon of Accra, Ghana; Ng Li Guan of Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia; Kean Loong Gui of Penang, Malaysia; Audrey Sue Ee Thai of Penang, Malaysia, and Boh Sidonie Befika of Bamenda, Cameroon. To help estimate the number of people who will be in attendance, it is requested that individuals pick up complimentary tickets prior to the event at Scott Pharmacy in Fayette or the Student Life Suite, located on the second floor of the UIU Student Center.

Students from 23 countries attending Upper Iowa University will be sharing some of their culture with the public during the “Ancient and Modern” celebration at UIU’s Fayette Campus on Tuesday, March 7. Adults and children are invited to participate in the International Culture Night festivities, which will be held from 6-9 p.m. on the upper level of the Student Center.

A buffet-style meal featuring international foods and refreshments will be served throughout the free event. Craft and calligraphy demonstrations, children’s games, and other activities will be held from 6-7 p.m. A student-led program including music, dancing, a fashion show, a choir performance, a lucky draw and other presentations will follow at 7 p.m.

“Ancient and Modern” is being sponsored by the UIU Center for International Education and International Student Association. To help estimate the number of people who will be in attendance, the sponsors request those who plan on attending the event to pick up complimentary tickets prior to March 7 at Scott Pharmacy in Fayette or the Student Life Suite, located on the second floor of the UIU Student Center.
