Giving Tree is in bloom at Student Center

The Upper Iowa University Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Giving Tree is blooming once again in the Student Center at Fayette Campus. The public is invited to pick a tag from the Giving Tree branches and help make the holiday season even more special for area children. Each tag describes the characteristics of a local elementary school student, along with ideas for gifts to buy the child. The UIU Giving Tree provides holiday cheer to approximately 100 children each year.

Persons who take a tag from the Giving Tree are agreeing to purchase a gift (or gifts), usually worth $10-$15. After purchasing the items, the participating Good Samaritans are to attach the tag to the unwrapped gifts and deliver them to the UIU Office of Student Life, located on the second floor of the Student Center, by Monday, December 5. It is important for participants to turn in the gift with the appropriate attached tag by the December 5 deadline to provide PBL members ample time to deliver the gifts to each school prior to the holiday break.

Anyone who has ordered something that is being delayed in shipping is asked to contact PBL adviser Lynn Isvik with the number and color of the respected ornament. For additional information, contact Isvik at ISVIKL@uiu.edu or 563-425-5711.
