Milwaukee Center to host open house

Upper Iowa University-Milwaukee Center will host an informational session Wednesday, Sept. 14, for students displaced by the recent national shutdown of ITT Technical Institute campuses. Former ITT students attending the event will have the opportunity to meet with UIU staff members, including admissions, academic and financial aid advisors. The event coincides with an open house for all prospective UIU students.

UIU announced on Friday, September 9, that the University is offering a grant up to $1,000 to current ITT Tech students and recent ITT Tech graduates toward full-time enrollment at UIU. To qualify for the grant, students simply need to have been enrolled at ITT Tech any time in the last year. Grants will be applied to tuition during UIU terms starting on Oct. 24, 2016; Jan. 9, 2017; and Mar. 6, 2017. The total amount of the grant is based on the number of classes taken over the three-term period. Grant recipients can attend any of UIU’s 25 locations in Arizona, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin as well as via UIU’s highly acclaimed online program. Funding for this program is limited, so students are encouraged to inquire early.

As UIU operates on eight-week terms, ITT Tech students do not need to wait until January to get started.  UIU’s innovative academic model also means that students take only two classes per term, providing them with greater flexibility while maintaining a high level of learning.

The UIU-Milwaukee Center Open House and ITT informational session will be held from 4-7 p.m. at the UIU-Milwaukee Center, 620 S. 76^th Street (next to State Fair Park) in Milwaukee, on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
