A junior from Rock Falls, Ill., has been elected the 2016-2017 Upper Iowa University Student Government Association (SGA) president. Paige Davis, an accounting/business management double major, was elected alongside four additional officers on the Fayette campus Thursday, Feb. 25.

In addition, she is a member of the Gamma Delta Phi sorority, which is built on the three pillars of service, leadership and loyalty.

Davis said she is looking forward to the opportunity to voice the student body’s interests, concerns, and needs on the Upper Iowa campus.

“I believe that more students should become involved with SGA, not only to better themselves as individuals but to also further enhance Upper Iowa University to the benefit of everyone on campus,” she explained. “I hear students, including myself, talk about what they expect from our University or what they wish our University had. I would like to see more student involvement in any proposed improvements they are talking about. The first step toward change is becoming more involved in SGA.”

In addition to Davis, the 2016-2017 Upper Iowa SGA officers are as follows:

She also wanted to help assure everyone at UIU has a great Peacock experience.

Treasurer Mikayla Hand is an Alburnett, Iowa, junior majoring in mathematics and financial management. She is involved with the Peacock Entertainment Crew and Peacocks for Progress.
