Making a difference during annual Phonathon
The office of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Development will host the annual Phonathon Program in February with 29 callers on this year’s team. This is the fourth year for the Phonathon, and every dollar donated has made a difference to students of Upper Iowa University.
Callers come in every evening for eight weeks to connect with alumni about their experiences, update their information and raise money for the Annual Fund. The support allows UIU to fund programs, scholarships and other immediate needs of the institution.
Among the callers who has benefitted from past donations to the Annual Fund is UIU senior Savannah Schinto. A physical education major from Spring Grove, Ill., Schinto is president of Gamma Delta Phi, vice president of administration of Enactus, and a member of the Peacock soccer team.
“My Upper Iowa University experience would have been impossible without the generous support from alumni and friends through Phonathon. This program is important because it provides support for the University and its students to thrive. It allows students, like myself, to connect personally with alumni while also benefiting the university,” said Schinto. “We always look forward to talking to you. Thank you for answering our calls.”
