UIU online finance degree program ranked 18th in the nation

Affordable Colleges Online (ACO) has ranked Upper Iowa University’s online finance degree program among the top in the nation. A leading resource for online learning and college affordability information, ACO ranked UIU 18th among universities to offer such programming in 2015-2016.

ACO specifically praised UIU for offering options for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in financial management. The officials noted Upper Iowa students can complete the program entirely online, including taking eight-week classes with weekly deadlines. The students also have the option of a self-paced program, where they have several months to complete coursework. Both options include core classes made up of 36 credits of general business courses and 18 credits of financial management classes.

The ACO officials commented that the UIU financial management classes are diverse, and include great options in courses such as International finance, personal financial management and managerial cost accounting.

Each of the ranked schools met a number of criteria and metrics, including:

  • Must be a public or private, not-for-profit institution.
  • Must offer at least one fully-online bachelor’s degree program.
  • Academic and counseling services.
  • Job placement for graduates.

Created in 2012, ACO creates in-depth resources that address topics, questions and concerns related to higher education with an eye on affordability and accreditation. Resources include comprehensive guidebooks, student interviews, user-friendly search tools, federal datasets and other materials created and vetted by experts in their fields.
