2015 Fine Arts Series ends this week

The 2015 Upper Iowa University Fine Arts Series closes out with three events this week.

Infusing elements of hip hop, theatre, improv and comedy into spoken-word poetry, Mayhem Poets will open the schedule at Upper Iowa University in Fayette today (Wednesday). The event begins at 7 p.m. in the UIU Student Center Ballroom.

In addition, “Landscape: Upper Iowa University Through the Ages” will feature the works of various artists beginning on Thursday, Oct. 1. The Fine Arts Series exhibit will be open from 2:30-4 p.m. at Bing-Davis Art Gallery in the UIU Edgar Fine Arts Hall. The Landscape exhibit will remain open through Friday, Oct. 30.

Meanwhile, Red Cedar Chamber Music will perform at 7 p.m. in the Fayette Opera House on Saturday, Oct. 3. Sponsored by Upper Iowa University’s School of Liberal Arts, Red Cedar Chamber Music will present “Mostly Folk Inspired,” featuring Jan Boland (flute), John Dowdall (guitar), Miera Kim (violin) and Carey Bostian (cello) in the Fayette Opera House, located at the corner of Main & Clark streets in Fayette.
