UIU agrees to new CAP partnership

BlueCross BlueShield of Louisiana employees and their family members will soon benefit from a new healthful partnership with Upper Iowa University. As Corporate Advantage Program (CAP) partners, the company’s employee members, their spouses and dependent children (under the age of 26) will be eligible to receive set tuition discounts for courses taken at any of Upper Iowa’s 25 U.S. educational centers or through UIU distance education programs. The application fee will also be waived for all participants.

Among Upper Iowa’s extended academic centers in Louisiana are locations in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, DeRidder, Fort Polk and New Orleans.

“The UIU CAP program is another example of how the University succeeds in helping learners of all ages achieve their educational dreams,” said UIU President William R. Duffy. “We are pleased that BlueCross BlueShield of Louisiana has chosen to partner with the University’s Corporate Advantage Program. With approximately 40 CAP members, Upper Iowa assists these and all other students not only gain the knowledge and education they need to excel in their careers, but also do so in an affordable way.”

Louisiana-owned and operated, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana is the state’s oldest domestic health insurer, having been founded in New Orleans in 1934. The company employs nearly 2,000 people in its Baton Rouge headquarters and eight regional offices in Alexandria, Houma, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Monroe, New Orleans and Shreveport.
