Upper Iowa University salutes new CAP partner

A large percentage of Iowa’s law enforcement personnel will soon have the opportunity to reap the benefits of Upper Iowa University’s Corporate Advantage Program (CAP). As CAP partners, Iowa State Police Association (ISPA) members, their spouses and dependent children (up to age 26) will be eligible to receive set tuition discounts for courses taken at any of Upper Iowa’s 25 U.S. educational centers, or through UIU online or self-paced programs. Registration fees are also waived.

“Helping adult learners achieve their educational dreams is a goal of Upper Iowa University,” said UIU President William R. Duffy. “We are pleased that the Iowa State Police Association has chosen to partner with the University’s Corporate Advantage Program. Upper Iowa strives to assist our students to gain the knowledge and education they need to excel in their careers, and we continue do so in an affordable way.”

“To fulfill the mission of the Iowa State Police Association to promote professionalism in Iowa law enforcement through education, the ISPA is excited to partner with Upper Iowa University,” added Ryan Goecke, ISPA president.

Founded in 1932 under the name Iowa State Policemen’s Association, the organization changed its name to Iowa State Police Association to reflect the influx of women into the ranks of law enforcement in Iowa. With 3,200 members, ISPA is currently the largest association of law enforcement professionals in Iowa.

The ISPA promotes professionalism in Iowa law enforcement through communication, education and legislation, with the purpose of enhancing the lives of its members and law enforcement personnel across the state, while encouraging and building camaraderie between all members of the law enforcement community.
